We do not set cookies

shakamerch.com sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no tracker of any kind on these pages. Nothing follows you off this site, because there is nothing here to follow you with.

That is a design decision, not an oversight, and it is why you have not been shown a banner asking you to accept anything.

What we do store

One thing, in your browser’s local storage:

• shaka.cart.v1 — the list of designs in your basket, so it survives a refresh. It never leaves your browser and nothing in it identifies you.

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require consent for storage that is not strictly necessary. A basket is strictly necessary for a shop you asked to use, which is why this one does not need a banner.

You can clear it at any time by clearing site data for shakamerch.com, or by emptying your basket.

Checkout is different

Paying happens on Shopify, on a different address. Shopify sets its own cookies there, which it needs to run a checkout and keep it secure. Those are Shopify’s and are covered by Shopify’s cookie policy.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics or advertising — and running ads would mean adding a pixel — this page changes first and a consent banner appears before anything non-essential is set. You would be asked, not told.
