2245 × 3975 px, full bleed, artwork to all four edges. PNG or JPG.
The left and right edges meet at the back of the leg. A design that runs off one side continues on the other, so treat it as a loop, not a rectangle.
Safe area — 3.1% in from each side, 1.9% from the top, 94.6% down. It is the green box on the outline. Nothing that has to be read goes outside it.
Cuff, heel and toe are knitted black and never printed. They are the dark bands on the outline. Artwork there is lost, not cropped.
Dye-sublimation, no white ink. Colour goes into the fibre, so it prints slightly deeper and softer than the screen. Fluorescents and very pale tints move the most.
No setup fee, no colour limit, no minimum per design. If they want to check it, upload the file here and turn the sock — that render is the print file, not an impression of it.
About fifteen minutes, in Canva, on the free plan. The same steps work in Photoshop, Figma or anything else that exports a PNG.
Download the outline. It is a see-through PNG at the exact size we print.
Start a blank design. In Canva: Create a design, then Custom size, then 2245 × 3975 px.
Put the outline on top. Upload it, drag it onto the page and stretch it to fill. Then lock it, so you cannot nudge it while you work. You can see straight through it.
Design underneath. Fill the whole page, right up to all four edges — there is no border, the print goes edge to edge.
Delete the outline. Click it, unlock, delete. It is a guide, not part of the design, and anything left of it prints.
Export. Share, then Download, then PNG. Leave transparent background unticked.
Bring it back here and press Upload your own. Turn the sock and zoom in — what you see is the file that goes to the printer.
Three things that catch people out
The dark bands do not print. Cuff, heel and toe are knitted black on every colour. Anything you put there disappears.
The two side edges meet at the back. The design wraps all the way round, so a word or a face sitting on an edge gets cut in half and joined to the other side. Keep anything that has to be read inside the green box.
Fabric is not a screen. Colour is dyed into the fibre, so it comes out slightly deeper and softer. Neons and very pale pastels shift the most; strong, saturated colours land closest to what you drew.
